Swash is a magazine devoted entirely to the art of calligraphy, specifically the expressive, abstract, playful, unconventional, and experimental side of it. I focused on my love of calligraphy and hand-lettering, taking inspiration from the Abstract Expressionist movement, and created a 20-page magazine that explored different elements of the art, while trying to utilize as much original illustration as possible. I also translated the print magazine into a digital publication using InDesign's Digital Publishing Suite, in which layers of interactivity and additional content were added, including a video at the end that lays out my hand-lettering process.
